Abstract This paper consists of two sections. In the first section we consider the uniqueness problem for the Euler equation of an ideal incompressible fluid motion. The strict counter-example is presented to demonstrate that the regularity restrictions in the known uniqueness theorem cannot be weakened in the framework of the energy method. In the second section the problem at issue is the reduction of Lagrangian equations of fluid motion with the help of the vorticity preservation law. In the 2-D case we reduce the system to the single equation for the generating function of the fluid particles mapping.
