Abstract | Solid solutions of the (1−x)Ba(Zr$_{0.07}$Ti$_{0.93}$)O$_{3}$-xBa((Ni$_{0.5}$W$_{0.5}$)$_{0.1}$Ti$_{0.9}$)O$_{3}$ system with 0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.2, were fabricated via a solid-state reaction technique. All samples exhibited a pure phase perovskite structure. The x = 0.05 samples exhibited very high dielectric constants (>60,000) for temperatures over 400°C, while the x = 2.0 samples had a higher degree of dielectric constant stability over a wide temperature range. The ceramics also showed a dielectric relaxor behavior. The frequency dependence of the loss tangent peak was observed to follow an Arrhenius law where the activation energies increased with increasing Ba((Ni$_{0.5}$W$_{0.5}$)$_{0.1}$Ti$_{0.9}$)O$_{3}$ content. The result suggests that the addition of Ba((Ni$_{0.5}$W$_{0.5}$)$_{0.1}$Ti$_{0.9}$)O$_{3}$ has strong effects on the properties this ceramic system. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
