Description An unbanked curve is simply a curve (or a turn) that lies flat on the ground (parallel to the horizontal). Whenever a car travels along such a curve, there is a force of friction that acts on the car to keep it turning in a circular pathway. Assuming that the tires of the car are stationary with respect to the ground (are not skidding or sliding), the force of static friction acts on the tires and point towards the center of the circular pathway created by the car. It is precisely this static frictional force that creates the centripetal force required to accelerate the car along the curved path. If the car's velocity is too high, the frictional force will not be large enough and the car will skid off the curve.

NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
