Abstract About one-fifth of people on earth lack access to safe drinking water, a condition that led to the death of 2.2 million people in 2004, according to the United Nations. Many communities in developing countries lack clean water. In these countries contaminated water has a significant impact on numerous lives. Fortunately, efficient and cheap water purification systems can make easy access to clean water a reality. In the following project we try to develop a “Low Cost Water Purification Technique” using the basic ideas of Slow Sand Filter, some locally available filter material like charcoal, Bone char and try to improve the methodology using the UV Filter, RO Filter, Activated Carbon Filter mechanism with the National Institute of Technology Rourkela Copy right.
