Abstract Gross intratumoural haemorrhage in acoustic neurinoma is rare. The authors describe seven patients, out of a consecutive 99 cases of acoustic neurinoma operated by the first author, who presented with haemorrhage. Risk factors for haemorrhage appear to be large size, mixed Antoni type and secondary vascular changes.
