Abstract Transconductance measurements using Si electrodes were conducted to distiguish faradaic and solid-state conduction pathways using ac impedance measurements. These measurements show that contact with 1,1{prime}-dimethylferrocene and ferrocene redox couples in CH{sub 3}OH(l)-1.0 M LiClO{sub 4} formed an inversion layer in the n-Si, but the solution with Me{sub 10}Fc did not. The barrier heights of these junctions were also obtained. 40 refs., 14 figs.
