Abstract Assuming a possible coupling of a mu -meson with a spinless boson neutral field, the form factors in mu /sup +/-e scattering are evaluated. Both cases of scalar and pseudoscalar sigma with non-derivative couplings are covered. It is concluded that for energies of the incident mu /sup +/ up to approximately 15 Bev, there should be no essential corrections to the usual expression for the cross section. (C.J.G.)
