Abstract X-ray-powder-diffraction data are presented for ZrC with Miller indices assigned to approximate interplanar spacings. A lattice constant of 4.698 A is given for hafnium-free ZrC. For stoichiometric ZrC, the Zr-C bond distance for coordination number 6 is reported as 2.394 A and the theoretical density as 6.56 g per cc at 25 ction prod- C. (C.J.G.)
