Abstract Previous work has shown the current density in a rectangular rod is a function of frequency. An examination of the surface current density in a 1/2 "/spl times/ 1/4 " copper rod is presented. While not directly measured, the current density is inferred by measurement of the infrared emissions from a detection screen placed in proximity to the excited rod.
