Abstract The evaporation-residue cross sections are extremely sensitive to the fission parameters, the level densities above and below the critical energy, and the transmission coefficient of the {gamma}-strength function of the full cascade in the residual nuclei. If the author considers reactions that lead to the formation of evaporation residues involving nuclei near the shell closure, the temperature and angular-momentum fade-out of the shell correction strongly affects the results. Moreover, the author finds that these results are also particularly sensitive to the binding energies (or the effective excitation energy including the fade-out of the pairing condensation energy). 18 refs., 9 figs.
