Abstract platinum oxide coated titanium anode was prepared. Electrooxidation of ethanol in 0.5 mol. dm-3 sulphuric acid at these electrodes was studied using galvanostatic polarisation, linear sweep voltammetry and chronopotentiometric techniques. Based on the data obtained, a mechanism is proposed for the electrooxidation of ethanol at these electrodes
