Abstract Battery power as a portable energy generator stands as a competitor to IC engines in view of its inherent capability to provide energy for multifarious application without atmospheric pollution. Among all the existing power sources, the recently conceived polymer electrolyte concept in the place of conventional electrolytes has paved way for the new era of Lithium-ion polymer batteries. Due to the outstanding performance of these batteries, the lithium-ion polymer battery is the future battery of the Universe. An extensive literature survey has been made in this regard and the output is presented in nutshell.
