Abstract The authors present another model to explain the phase and spectral characteristics of ULF geomagnetic pulsation wave trains. Their model views these characteristics as the signature of two ovelapping independent exciations. The authors employ analytic signal representation as a tool to study these wave properties, and show the power of this technique in using it to model responses from such events.
