Abstract We have measured the cross sections for the reactions ..pi../sup +/p..-->..2..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/p, ..pi../sup +/K/sup +/K/sup -/p, ..pi../sup +/pp-barp, 3..pi../sup +/2..pi../sup -/p, 2..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/K/sup +/K/sup -/p, 2..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/pp-barp, 4..pi../sup +/3..pi../sup -/p, and 5..pi../sup +/4..pi../sup -/p at 32 GeV/c, the cross sections for their individual channels ..pi../sup +/p..-->..rho/sup 0/..pi../sup +/p, f/sup 0/..pi../sup +/p, ..delta../sup + +/..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/, rho/sup 0/..delta../sup + +/, f/sup 0/..delta../sup + +/, rho/sup 0/2..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/p, and ..delta../sup + +/2..pi../sup +/2..pi../sup -/, and the cross sections for diffraction processes in the reactions ..pi../sup +/p..-->..2..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/p, ..pi../sup +/K/sup +/K/sup -/p, and 3..pi../sup +/2..pi../sup -/p. The energy dependences and factorization properties of the cross sections are discussed.
