Abstract The CsCl-type structure was reported in alloys of Cu with Sm, Tb, Dy, Ho, and Tm and in alloys of Zn with Y, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, and Tm. The structures of the alloys were investigated by x-ray diffraction, and it is shown that a linear relation exists between the lattice parameter of the compounds and the trivalent radii of the rare-earth elements.
