Abstract Large cross sections for neutron-pickup reactions have been observed for /sup 37/Cl, /sup 48/Ti, and /sup 58/Ni+ /sup 208/Pb at incident energies of 250, 300, and 375 MeV, respectively. These reactions, which occur with energy losses of only approx.5 MeV, contribute about 25% to the total reaction cross section.
