Abstract It was shown that in the calculation of the electrical conductivity of a plasma at extremely high temperatures, wave mechanical effects must be considered. The critical tempeature, above which deviations of the eletrical conductivity from the values calculated by classical gas dynamics appear, is proportional to the square of the effective charge number of the plasma.
