Abstract The data on {ital J}/{psi}{r_arrow}{gamma}{ital K}{sup +}{ital K}{sup {minus}} from the BES experiment at the Beijing electron-positron collider have been analyzed. We find two resonances in the 1.7GeV region which were identified as {ital f}{sub {ital J}}(1710): a scalar with mass 1781{plus_minus}8{sub {minus}31}{sup +10}(MeV) and width 85{plus_minus}24{sub {minus}19}{sup +22}(MeV), and a tensor with mass 1696{plus_minus}5{sub {minus}34}{sup +9}(MeV) and width 103{plus_minus}18{sub {minus}11}{sup +30}(MeV). The resulting branching ratios {ital B}({ital J}/{psi}{r_arrow}{gamma}{ital f}{sub {ital J}}){ital B}({ital f}{sub {ital J}}{r_arrow}{ital K}{sup +}{ital K}{sup {minus}}) are (0.8{plus_minus}0.1{sub {minus}0.1}{sup +0.3})10{sup {minus}4} for {ital J}=0 and (2.5{plus_minus}0.4{sub {minus}0.4}{sup +0.9})10{sup {minus}4} for {ital J}=2, respectively. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
