Abstract The kinetics of thermal decomposition of crystalline bromate, normal and irradiated with 50 Mrad /sup 60/Co gamma rays, was investigated over the temperature range 400 to 420 deg C. The substance decomposes mainly in two stages, acceleratory and decay, which follow the Prout-Tompkins relationship. Irradiation enhances the decomposition, but the energy of activation in either stage is not affected. (auth)
