Abstract Pion double charged exchange (DCX) is the only reaction to easily observe the double isobaric analog states (DIAS). Most of the observations of the DIAS in the past have been on even-even nuclei, with only very few observations of the DIAS in odd-even nuclei. The data presented here are from an experiment performed at the Clinton P. Anderson meson physics facility (LAMPF). The experiment was designed to measure the DIAS in several odd-A nuclei and compare the N, Z, and A dependence to measurements on even-A nuclei. The measurements were performed at T{sub {pi}} = 292 MeV and 5{degrees}, on targets of {sup 55}Mn, {sup 75}As, {sup 89}Y, {sup 165}Ho and {sup 181}Ta. The DIAS was observed in each nucleus. These measurements are compared with the measurements of the DIAS in even-A nuclei.
