Abstract Thermoemission properties of cerium and lanthanum mono- and sesquisulfides were analyzed. Tabulated data on LaS, La/sub 2/S/sub 3/, CeS, and Ce/sub 2/S/sub 3/ emission properties at 1200 to 1700 deg K showed a low current density (at 1700 deg K the current density is several ma per cm/sup 2/). The thermal yield coefficient for all four sulfides is (1 to 2) x 10/sup -3/. (R.V.J.)
