Abstract The changes in the levels of polydeoxyribonucleotides in highly radiosensitive tissue after exposure to nonuniform radiation (irradiation of the anterior or posterior half of the body) were studied. The cells of the thymus and bone marrow were used. The contribution of direct and remote elements were evaluated in the overall radiation effect.
