Abstract At the University of Rochester we have constructed and tested a large-aperture, (1.0{times}6.5 cm), high-gain (8) Brewster{close_quote}s angle zigzag Nd:glass amplifier with a repetition rate of 2 Hz. This amplifier has a gain uniformity of {plus_minus}3{percent} and a maximum stress-induced depolarization {lt}2.5{percent}. {copyright} 1997 Optical Society of America
