Abstract A new amide alkaloid, N-(3',4',5'-trimethoxy-cis-cinnamoyl)pyrrolidine (1), named sarmentomicine was isolated from the ethanol extract of the leaves of Malayan Piper sarmentosum, together with two known phenylpropanoids. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.
