Abstract The energy spectra of inelastic protons from a thin /sup 63/Cu target bombarded with protons of energies between 5-- 11 Mev were measured at 105 deg . The independence of the shape of the reduced energy spectra on bombarding energy implied the validity of statistical theory. Assuming compoundnucleus formation, the deduced level densities were best fit with a constant-temperature model (T approximately 1.5 Mev).(auth)
