Abstract To achieve increased selectivity in instrumental activation analysis, a computer program was developed that rapidly determines the optimum times of irradiation and decay for activation analysis of any element in any mixture regardless of its complexity. The program is generalized for any cornbination of nuclear reactions, involving both elements for analysis and as interferences. Mathematical solution is accomplished through an iterative approximation process. The program is described in detail and examples of its application are given. (auth)
