Abstract We report an experimental study of the differential cross section for elastic Hed scattering at helium momenta 9.0 and 19.8 GeV/c in the range of squared 4-momentum transfer 0.0028 < or = vertical-bar t vertical-bar< or =0.168 (GeV/c)/sup 2/. We have calculated the total cross section for nuclear Hed scattering, the slope parameter, and the ratio of the real part to the imaginary part of the amplitude for elastic nuclear Hed scattering.
