Abstract Alphacypermethrin is a highly active type-II pyrethroid insecticide. It is being widely used for the protection of vegetables and fruits due to its activity against lepidopterans and aphids. As this insecticide is in use as crop protectant, it is likely to cause indirect exposure in animals through contamination of feed, soil and ground water. Herbal plants are believed to promote positive health and maintain organic resistance against infection by re-establishing the body's equilibrium and conditioning the body tissues and cause immunomodulation. Among various plants causing immunomodulation, Withania sonmifera (Ashwagandha) is important one. Present study was planned to know the toxic effect of Alphacypermethrin on immune system and reversal effect of Withania sonmifera on Alphacypermethrin induced immunotoxicity in mice
