Abstract The present experiment was planned and conducted to know the effect of supplementing bypass fat in the concentrate mixture of lactating dairy cows. The feeding experiment was conducted on eighteen lactating crossbred cows (H.F. x Jersey x Kankrej) with average body weight 321.58 to 332.75 kg, average daily milk production 10 to 12 kg and average milk fat 3.70 to 3.78% in the beginning of study. The cows were grouped randomly into three treatments (T1, T2 and T3) with six cows under each treatment following completely randomized design. The cows under T1 were fed control diet (Concentrate + Dry fodder + Green fodder), in T2 control diet + bypass fat supplement as per recommendation and in T3 control diet + unprotected oil instead of bypass fat supplement. Experimental feeding of individual cows was carried out for the period of 17 weeks
