Abstract Asobiuta, Japanese traditional nursery rhymes, are now outdated, but are extremely useful for the early-stages in music educationbecause they are very enjoyable and easy to remember without amusic score. We attempted to produce a karaoke animation program onasobiuta that would be available on TV and the Internet. During thecreation process, we arranged these songs into popular music formatand designed the animation to resemble karaoke, so that childrencould sing them by following the words on a video screen.
