Abstract For as long as I can remember---and probably since the invention of the computer---there have been two rules about storage space for computer data: You never have enough of it, and if you have more, it's not connected to the right computer. Somehow this seems to be true even with the incredible increases in the capacity of disk drives, with retail prices in the neighborhood of 50 cents per gigabyte.
