Abstract Generalized curves are derived which allow the utility engineer to easily determine the possibility of parallel resonance on EHV transmission lines. The curves are given for transposed and untransposed multi-circuit lines and for single-circuit lines where the misoperation of a single phase of a circuit breaker is to be considered. The parallel resonance problems associated with typical reactor and transformer configurations are evaluated.
