Abstract We show that Coulomb coupled bilayers of the type which can be fabricated in GaAs systems can have a ``conventional`` BCS superconducting instability at reasonable temperatures, i.e., 0.1 K{lt}{ital T}{sub {ital c}}{approx_lt}1 K.
