Abstract Typical measurements are reported for the diamagnetic moment of plasmas in static magnetic fields, using resonnnce techniques for field shift detection. For measuring the moment in low fields, electron spin resonance in diphenylpicrylnydrazyl was used with a mercury plasma; the results indicate a maximum moment at field strengths near 50 gauss. For high fields, proton resonance was used to measure the moment in a Ne-I% Ar plasma; the moment was observed to decrease exponentially with the field.
