Abstract Thin foils of 50 μm in thickness of Fe-6.5wt.%Si alloy were obtained by conventional hot-cold rolling method. The rolling texture and basic mechanical properties of the foils were examined. The foils were heavily work-hardened and exhibited high tensile fracture strength with some extent of plastic elongations. Their bending ductility was more remarkable.
