Abstract This paper proposes the physical model of Coagu-flocculation mechanism. In this model we define the course of Coagu-flocculation as three steps, which are mix, coagulation and flocculation. In spite of non strict disguishion of practical course of Coagu-flocculation, but test verify that: first, the mix and coagulation of organic flocculant nearly finish at the same step, and need much stronger mix intensity; while inorganic flocculant need much weaker mix intensity; second, as to ensure forming much bigger floccules, it need weakness mix of certain time.
