Abstract Time-scale transformations of audio signals have traditionally relied exclusively upon manipulations of tempo variation. In this paper we present a novel mixing and synchronization technique between two musical signals. The original musical signal assumes the tempo, meter, and rhythmic structure of a secondary model signal, while extracted downbeats and salient intra-measure infras-tructure of the original is maintained. 1.
