Abstract Abstract. We propose continuum models for simulation of carbon nanotube based electromechanical switches. Mechanical behavior of a single wall nanotube has been modeled by a continuum model parameterized by using molecular dynamics simulations. By coupling the continuum mechanical and electrostatic models, electromechan-ical analysis of a single wall nanotube is performed to compute the pull-in voltage.
