Description In this paper we evaluate the use of an objectoriented open platform based on the CORBA standard [15] for the implementation of replicated services. To improve the flexibility of the implementation, we use a reflective approach [13], which allows for separation of aspects related to the replication model from those related exclusively to the service being replicated. This separation makes it possible to modify the replication protocol according to the fault tolerance level desired, without any implications for the application code.
