Abstract ABSTRACT: The kinetics and mechanism of p-Bis(dimethylamino)-phenothiazin-5-ium chloride by sulphate ion has been investigated in perchloric acid. The progress of the reactions was monitored by observing the decrease in absorbance of the oxidant at λ max of 663 nm UV/Vis Spectrumlab 752s spectrophotometer. The results showed a stoichiometry of 1:2, first-order dependence in both oxidant and reductant. The second order rate equation at constant temperature is therefore given as:-d[MB]/dt = k2[MB][SO4
